3. I opened the window because it was hot.

4. The phone rang when Sue was cooking the dinner.

5. I heard a noise outside, so I looked out the window.

6. Tom was looking out of the window when the accident happened.

7. Richard had a book in his hand but he wasn’t reading it. He was watching TV.

8. Catherine bought a magazine but she didn’t read it. She didn’t have time.

9. I finished my meal, I paid the bill and left the restaurant.

( raconte ce qu'il a fait, les actions ont eu lieu l'une après l'autre : past simple )

10. I saw Kate this morning. I was walking along the street and waiting for the bus.

( raconte qui il a vu ( past simple ) et ce qu'il était en train de faire à ce moment ( past continuous ). Pour la deuxième phrase il n'est pas utile de mettre "was" waiting, il est sous-entendu )
