(E) :  2 x⁴ - 7 x² - 15 = 0

1) en posant X = x²   ⇔ 2 (x²)² - 7 x² - 15 = 0

Donc  (E) devient   2 X² - 7 X - 15 = 0

2) résoudre dans R    2 X² - 7 X - 15 = 0

Δ = 49 + 60 = 109  ⇒√109

X1 = (7 + √109)/4  ≈ 4.4

X2 = 7 - √109)/4 ≈ - 0.86

3) résoudre dans R  (E)

X = (7 + √109)/4  ⇔ x² = (7 + √109)/4  ⇔ x = - (7 + √109)/4  

ou  x = (7 + √109)/4

X = (7 - √109)/4  ⇔ x² =  (7 - √109)/4  pas de solutions car un carré est toujours positif
